Email Your Representatives to Join the Call for Increased Arts Funding in NY State - Week of February 20, 2023
Next year’s state budget will be voted on in the coming weeks, so now is the time to make our voices heard. The Governor’s Executive Budget included only $40M for the New York State Council on the Arts, and no funding for capital projects for cultural organizations. This would be a big step down from last year’s funding. Senator José Serrano and Assembly Member Daniel O’Donnell released letters calling for substantial increases in funding both to NYSCA and for capital projects for arts organizations.
