Call for an emergency session of the NYS legislature to pass NY for All

New Yorkers for Culture and Arts hosts and provides administrative support for working groups tailored towards specific sectors of the cultural ecosystem. These sub coalitions convene arts and culture leaders once a quarter to better coordinate advocacy efforts focused on specific issues. Learn more about each of the four groups below. 

Mutual Art Aid

This working group is led in collaboration with Queer Aid, a mutual aid initiative by KT Kennedy and NY4CA, It gathers artists and cultural workers who are advancing mutual aid efforts in their communities covering a wide array of causes and needs. Arts Justice  

This working group is led in collaboration with Regaina Bain and Charanya  Louis Armstrong House Museum and gathers cultural workers, artists, and organizations whose cultural work is for, and often by, people who continue to be and have been historically harmed by the criminal legal system. Art Services Organizations 

This working group convenes leaders of Art Service Organizations in New York to discuss specific challenges faced by ASOs, and advocacy efforts at the city and state level to increase funding and improve their ability to serve their constituencies. To join this working group email our Director of Director of Programs, Peter Elizalde at Peter@ny4ca.org 

LGBTQIA+ Culturals

This group is led in collaboration with National Queer Theater. It focuses on LGBTQIA+ and Trans forward work and advocacy in the Arts and Culture sector. To join this working group email our Director of Programs, Peter Elizalde at Peter@ny4ca.org


New Yorkers for Culture & Arts envisions a future where every New Yorker is embraced by the power of culture and the arts to enrich and transform their lives and express their shared humanity.

Working with a broad coalition, we advocate for improved policy and increased funding for culture for all New Yorkers, including individual artists, cultural organizations of all sizes, and cultural groups in historically disinvested communities.
